Local runner and running veteran, Dean Hughes is one of the #EverPresents to have participated in every Swansea Half Marathon since its inception in 2014. The 52-year-old runner has pledged to continue running it for as long as he can, to keep supporting his local race.
Having finished playing rugby in 2010, Dean was looking for new challenges to stay fit, so took up running in 2012 and thus began his running journey.

Dean said:
“I live in Swansea and it was ideal to have a new half marathon as my local race. The race has grown over the years with the number of runners and more so the amount of supporters along the route and the race village. The course has also improved especially since the 1st edition which included the seemingly endless switchbacks in SA1. The running community in Swansea always seems to be very welcoming and friendly, which only adds to the atmosphere on race day. I’m determined to keep running it for as long as I can so that I don’t break my race streak!”
