Maggie’s Swansea Continues as Charity Partner to the Swansea Half Marathon

Front Runner Events, organisers of the Swansea Half Marathon, are excited to announce that Maggie’s Swansea will continue as an official charity partner for the upcoming race. This ongoing partnership gives runners the opportunity to support people living with cancer and their families by fundraising while taking part in one of Wales’ best-loved running events.

Maggie’s Swansea, based at Singleton Hospital, provides free support, advice, and practical guidance for anyone affected by cancer. From psychological and emotional support to benefits advice and workshops on nutrition and exercise, Maggie’s helps thousands of people each year find the strength to live well with cancer.

Why Maggie’s Matters

In 2024 alone, Maggie’s Swansea welcomed over 10,000 visits, offering a lifeline to individuals and families navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. The charity relies almost entirely on voluntary donations, and partnerships like this one ensure they can continue delivering essential services free of charge.

What They Said

Lucia Osmond, Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie’s Swansea, said:

Every step taken and every pound raised will help us be there for people facing cancer at the most difficult time of their lives. Swansea is such a supportive community, and we can’t wait to see Team Maggie’s out on the course.”

Tash Smith, Director at Front Runner Events, added:

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Maggie’s Swansea. Their work has a profound impact on so many people in our city and beyond, and this collaboration gives our runners a chance to make a real difference while taking on the half marathon challenge.”
