The leading fitness and leisure centres across Swansea will partner with Wales’ biggest Summer RUNFEST this June. Front Runner Events, the mass participation race organisers have announced Freedom Leisure will be the headline sponsor of the Swansea Family Fun Run for the next three years.
The fun run will take place on Sunday 9th June and will be staged at the official start line of the Swansea University Swansea Half Marathon and set against the backdrop of the premier leisure facilities at the LC. The Freedom Family Fun Run promises a day filled with excitement and healthy competition for all ages and abilities.
Craig Jones, General Manager of the LC, said;

The Family Fun Run, which consists of a city 2k route, invites participants of all fitness levels and ages to walk, run, or jog alongside their loved ones and follow in the footsteps of their heroes! Embracing inclusivity, strollers are warmly welcomed, ensuring that there are no barriers to participation, truly making this an event for all!

To add to the race excitement the LC mascot, Tommy the Turtle will start the family fun run at approximately 9.15 am. Each participant will receive a bespoke FSC-certified wooden medal, a bottle of Brecon Carreg water and goodies at the finish.

Entry to the Freedom Family Fun Run starts at just £10 (plus booking fee) or £24 for a family pass (that includes entry for up to four). Schools and sports clubs are also encouraged to register for a chance to become crowned as the fastest team! Those in the top three places will win a family day pass for the LC to discover more about what facilities Freedom Leisure can offer.
Following the run, the festivities will continue at the race village, featuring an array of stalls, refreshments, and entertainment on the Museum Green.
