Get ready to lace up and cheer loud as Wales’ biggest summer running festival returns with more energy, excitement, and community spirit than ever before, this Sunday 8th June!
Taking place in the vibrant coastal city of Swansea, this year’s festival features a triple-header of races: the Swansea University Swansea Half Marathon, the Front Runner 5 Miler, and the Freedom Leisure Family Fun Run — promising something for everyone, from elite athletes to families and first-time runners.

This year marks the 11th edition of the Swansea University Swansea Half Marathon — and it’s set to be the biggest yet, with a record number of athletes registered. The event will also host the prestigious Master Road International Championships, welcoming 286 Masters Athletes from across the UK and beyond.
Organised by local events company Front Runner Events Ltd, the race series has been a staple of the Welsh sporting calendar since 2014. Over the years, the race has helped raise millions of pounds for charitable causes, making every stride count in more ways than one.

“We’re incredibly proud to see how far this event has come,” said Tash Smith, Managing Director of Front Runner Events Ltd.
“What started as a local race has grown into a major fixture on the UK running calendar. This year’s festival not only showcases top-tier athletic talent but also brings families, communities, and charities together in a powerful way. It’s about more than running — it’s about creating impact and helping make Swansea the city made for running.”
Last Chance to Run for Charity

There’s still time to secure a place in this year’s event and support a good cause. The headline charity is Shelter Cymru, a charity dedicated to end homelessness in Wales, now is your chance to help them defend the right for a place to call home. Runners can also choose to support cancer charities Maggie’s Swansea, and local charity Morgan’s Army.
Charity places are limited and only available until midday on Wednesday 4 June — don’t miss your chance to make every mile matter! To register your place to run for charity, visit: https://www.swanseahalfmarathon.co.uk/run-for-charity/
The Sponsors Behind the Start Line

The event is made possible thanks to the support of sponsors and partners including:
Headline partners at Swansea University, who are championing the Making Strides for Mental Health campaign. Official Hydration Partners at Brecon Carreg, will be on hand to keep runners well-hydrated, along with official vehicle partners at Gravells who will be leading the way with their electric car to guide runners along the route.
A Weekend of Movement, Motivation and Community

Thousands of runners and spectators are expected to flood Swansea’s city centre and seafront on race day. With road closures, live entertainment, charity cheer points, and family-friendly activities, the festival is a celebration of health, community, and purpose.
Spectators are encouraged to come down and show their support — so bring your banners, noise, and energy to help make race day a memorable one!
