By Train

With so many participants and spectators travelling to Swansea over the race weekend, why not make your trip stress-free by travelling down on the train?  Avoid the congestion, stress of driving and take the train in advance of race day, where you could even make a weekend of it?

Swansea enjoys excellent rail connections between a number of major cities and regions within 3-4 hours travel. Plan ahead!

Please note, if you are planning to travel on race day, remember check with your local train provider to see if a train allows you enough time to arrive at the race before the start at 10am.  Please be aware that some services can be affected on Sundays, so it is advisable to double check timetables and allow plenty of time to get to the start area.

By Car

When travelling by car please be prepared that there may be some congestion into the city on race day and during road closures. Please allow extra time to arrive well before the race to avoid the traffic and find suitable parking. From the East: Leave the M4 at junction 42 and follow the A483 (Fabian Way) into the centre of Swansea. At traffic signals (Parc Tawe Bridge) continue forward onto the A4067 Signposted Gower (you will pass Sainsburys on your left) and follow signs for City Centre.

From the West: On the M4 at Junction 49 roundabout take 3rd exit onto the M4 Signposted Cardiff, Swansea, Llanelli. Leave the M4 at Junction 47 take 4th exit at roundabout onto the A483 (Signposted Swansea West). At roundabout take 1st exit Signposted Swansea. At traffic signals continue forward onto the A483 Signposted City Centre
From the South West: Drive North along the M5 motorway and then follow signs for South Wales and the M4.

From the Midlands and North: Head for the M50 motorway (junction 8 on the M5 motorway) and then onto the A40 (signposted South Wales, Monmouth). Continue along the A40 until you reach Monmouth when the road becomes the A449. Continue along the A449 until you reach the Coldra roundabout. Here you should take the 5th exit to join the M4.

Parking

Swansea has several car parks within the City Centre, including NCP carparks and those run by the local authority.  All of the Swansea City Council car parks are free to use on Sunday, more information on these can be found by visiting: www.swansea.gov.uk/citycentrecarparks
